Who we are
DeckReady is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that tags your music files with Beatport metadata. It is an independent tool made by DJ Dimitri Aless and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Beatport. Questions about this policy or your data: mid30084@gmail.com.
What we collect when you sign in with Google
DeckReady asks you to sign in with Google (permissions: openid email profile). Our sign-in server stores only:
- your Google account ID, email address and name;
- whether your access is active or blocked;
- when you first signed in and when the app last checked in (while it is open, the app checks with the server about once a minute).
We use this only to sign you in, to control access to the app (for example, to block misuse) and to tell the app about updates. We do not store your profile picture or anything else from your Google account, and we do not get access to your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.
Like most web servers, our sign-in server keeps standard technical access logs (IP address, time and the requested address). They are used only for security and troubleshooting.
DeckReady's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
What stays on your computer
- Your music files and their tags. DeckReady never uploads your audio files or their contents anywhere.
- Your Beatport username, password and Beatport login token.
- Your settings, saved sessions, logs and the cache (Beatport answers and artwork, kept to make the app faster).
- Your DeckReady sign-in pass, so you stay signed in.
This data is stored in your user folder on your own computer. We cannot see it.
What is sent to Beatport
To find your tracks, DeckReady sends search queries to Beatport — the artist and title taken from your file's tags or file name. To use Beatport, it sends your Beatport login to Beatport itself (and to no one else). It also downloads artwork and preview clips from Beatport. Beatport's own privacy policy applies to that data.
Updates and this website
App updates are downloaded from GitHub. This website uses no cookies and no analytics; it loads fonts from Google Fonts and the latest version number from GitHub, and it is hosted on GitHub Pages.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone. There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting in DeckReady.
How long we keep data, and deletion
Your sign-in record is kept while you use DeckReady. To have it deleted, email mid30084@gmail.com from the address you signed in with, and we will delete it. Everything on your computer is removed when you delete the app's files from your user folder.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
